 Life has its ups and downs. 

Lefts and Rights.

 

And bringing us surprises of joy.

 

Laurie is my joy.

 

She’s brightened my world.

 

Like the north star.

 

Lighting up the night sky. 

 

 

Her love warms my heart.

 

Like a winter fire.

 

On a snowy night. 

 

Her smile.

 

Oh! Her smile is the morning sun.

 

Shining through my window. 

 

Showing the pathway to my soul. 

 

 

Laurie’s beauty.

 

Emanates for all to see.

 

For she is beautiful.

 

Both inside and out. 

 

And through and through.

 

 

Her kiss makes me melt.

 

As it is as soft as a rain drop.

 

On a pedal of a rose. 

 

Taking my breath away.

 

While lifting my entire being.

 

To a higher place.

 

 

Luck happens once in a lifetime.

 

Maybe twice.

 

As we are lucky to have found each other. 

 

 

Hand in Hand we stroll.

 

One stride at a time. 

 

On our journey. 

 

For our love.

 

 Will last. 

 

Forevermore.

The Angels Are Crying

  I heard the news today.     Oh boy, it hit me like a punch to my chest.    Is my son safe at school?   What about my daughter working in the hospital?   Another day, one of too many to count.   Where I just want to hug my children.   Hold them tight. Doesn’t matter if it’s the one who is eleven to the one who just turned thirty.    I can’t even begin to comprehend what their parents are thinking nor how they are feeling.    The emptiness. Being engulfed in so much pain and sadness that their world is a blur.    And their hearts; must be as heavy as a bolder.    First day excitement & jitters for the children of Annunciation.    A beautiful Minneapolis Day.
